Widely known for its proximity to Walt Disney World and other tourist destinations, Greater Osceola consists of the cities of Kissimmee and St. Cloud and Osceola County, Florida. Greater Osceola is the fastest growing part of Metro Orlando and is the 10th fastest growing county in the U.S. (Forbes).

Planning for future growth is a trademark of Greater Osceola. 185,000 acres are being planned for future development, ten times more than any other county in the region.

Florida Advanced Manufacturing Research CenterOsceola County is committed to transforming the local economy by building the $200 million Florida Advanced Manufacturing Research Center (FAMRC), an industry-led research and development center for the smart-sensor industry. Other partners in the project include the University of Central Florida, the Florida High Tech Corridor Council, the Orlando Economic Development Commission and Enterprise Florida.

FAMRC is located in a 225-acre development known as The Farm. Owned by Osceola County, the research and manufacturing park will build upon the private sector research being conducted at FAMRC.

Other business sectors targeted for growth include tourism, recreation and entertainment; agriculture and food processing; medical products and health care; and information technology.
